Optimism vs. Reality in the World of Strategic Communications

I want to hire a large, well-known agency that:
Regularly sends over cookie baskets and bottles of champagne
Buys huge bouquets of fresh-cut flowers for their reception area
Takes me out to 3-hour lunches
Tells me whatever they think I want to hear

I’m looking for a strategic partner that:
Is well-versed in vanity metrics
Can slice and dice numbers to help me showcase my value to upper management
Doesn’t bother me with any questions
Takes none of the credit but all of the blame

I am just seeking short-term support for one announcement, and looking for a professional who:
Has high-level relationships with top-tier media contacts that they will fully leverage on my behalf
Won’t require a contract, and is open to working on spec
Sets pricing based on “results”, rather than on the time required to achieve them
Will allow me to determine what kind of results I believe merit payment after the fact

When it comes to PR, I believe:
Traditional media isn’t valuable, because we really can’t prove where that huge spike in traffic came from
Paid media is just as credible as earned
I should be able to pay with an IOU from my upcoming Initial Coin Offering (date and details still TBD)
I shouldn’t have to even think about it, because my company is so unique it will just go viral on its own

Successful PR and Communications programs require a combination of:
Strategic planning and solid execution
Quality content and visible positioning
Credibility and persuasion
Flexibility and perseverance
All of the above
